census of 2000, there are 436 people, 168 households, and 124 families residing in the village. The population density is 123.8/km² (319.8/mi²). There are 185 housing units at an average density of 52.5/km² (135.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.62% White, 0.69% African American, 0.46% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.23% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 168 households out of which 38.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% are married couples living together, 11.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 21.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.02. In the village the population is spread out with 31.2% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who are 65 years of age or older.
