Killswitch Engage
Killswitch Engage are a Metalcore
band from
Massachusetts. Mike D'Antonio, the
bass player from Overcast looked all over the underground
Hardcore and
Metal scene to find the right people to form another band after his own split up. Finally, in 1999, D'Antonio met Adam Dutkiewitz, Aftershock's
drummer and Joel Stroetzel, Aftershock's
guitarist. The only thing they lacked now was a vocalist. Jesse Leach stepped up to offer his vocal abilities. The now four member band took the name of Killswitch Engage.
Killswitch Engage combine Hardcore, heavy, crushing riffs, double bass drum patterns, and furious screaming-growling vocals. After the music label Ferret heard them perform, they were stunned. They were set to open for In Flames during their tour. This and their debut album got them an extreme amount of reviews. In 2002 they released Alive or Just Breathing, which shows an even more brutal side of the band.
