León, León
León is the capital city of the province of
León. It is located in the northwest of
Spain in the
autonomous community of
Castile-Leon. Its population is 135,794 (2002), about 2/7ths that of the province.
León is famous for its gothic Cathedral, and romanesque buildings. There is a bank building which is an early work of Antoni Gaudi.
