Lily Tomlin
Lily Tomlin (born
September 1,
1939), is an actress and comedian, famous for her character skits on television's
Laugh-In. She played a deaf woman in
Nashville, and secretaries in
Nine to Five,
The Kid and the TV show
The West Wing. She played the voice of
Ms. Frizzle for the
Magic School Bus cartoon series
1994 to
1997.
She starred in the hit one-woman Broadway show The Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, written by her long-time romantic partner, Jane Wagner. The show won Tomlin a Tony Award.
In 2003 Tomlin won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
Tomlin was born in Detroit, Michigan.
