Love & Pop
Love & Pop was director Anno Hideaki's first live action film. It's filmed almost fully on hand-held
digital camera, with some very innovative camera work, particularly with the use of toy train tracks. It flips from widescreen to 4:3 aspect, distorts, confuses, and makes use of layers of film to convey the character's emotion.
The film follows 4 highschool girls who habitually spend time with office workers to finance their pre-millenial atavistic lives. The DVD release is unsubtitled, but a script in English has been produced by fans.
