Lvov school of mathematics
The
Lvov school of mathematics was a group of
Polish mathematicians from
Lvov that worked together, mainly in
Scottish Café, discussing mathematical problems.
Many of mathematicians had to escape from the city, before
Germany occupied the country, especially if they were of
Jewish origins. After
World War II it moved to
Wroclaw.
However, most of mathematicians had either died or moved to other countries.
