Magnolia is a city located in Columbia County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 10,858. The city is the county seat of Columbia County6.

census2 of 2000, there are 10,858 people, 4,204 households, and 2,577 families residing in the city. The population density is 449.8/km² (1,165.3/mi²). There are 4,821 housing units at an average density of 199.7/km² (517.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 58.24% White, 39.38% Black or African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.65% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 1.00% from two or more races. 1.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,204 households out of which 28.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.2% are married couples living together, 17.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.7% are non-families. 34.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.33 and the average family size is 3.01. In the city the population is spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 16.8% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 84.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 79.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $26,011, and the median income for a family is $35,269. Males have a median income of $31,577 versus $20,840 for females.
