Mokena is a village located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 14,583.

census of 2000, there are 14,583 people, 4,703 households, and 3,912 families residing in the village. The population density is 938.4/km² (2,432.4/mi²). There are 4,848 housing units at an average density of 312.0/km² (808.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.87% White, 0.49% African American, 0.07% Native American, 1.25% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.63% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. 2.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,703 households out of which 48.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.7% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.8% are non-families. 14.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.10 and the average family size is 3.46. In the village the population is spread out with 32.4% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who are 65 years of age or older.
