Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 2,103 people, 884 households, and 524 families residing in the village. The population density is 238.8/km² (618.6/mi²). There are 931 housing units at an average density of 105.7/km² (273.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.43% White, 1.14% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.38% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. 1.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 884 households out of which 30.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.0% are married couples living together, 13.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.7% are non-families. 34.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
