Mother (video game)
The
Mother series is an original
role-playing game developed by Nintendo in 1989 for the japanese Famicom system. Although most RPGs depict knights and wizards (such as
Final Fantasy), the Mother series takes place in a rural town in the 1980s. Enemies consisted of aliens, possesed cars, and hippies. Instead of swords and shields, weapons consisted of Yoyo's and frying pans.
Although Mother was never released in America for the NES, it's sequal for the SNES was. It went by the name of Earthbound, and starred a young psychic boy by the name of Ness.
