Mother and Son
Mother and Son was a long-running Australian
television sitcom produced by the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation from
1982 until
1994. The sitcom starred Ruth Cracknell and Gary Macdonald. Ruth Cracknell played the role of the aging Maggie Beare, while Gary Macdonald was her long-suffering care-giver son, Arthur. The storylines addressed the problems of aging and caregiving for somebody with
Alzheimer's disease with a gentle humour that made the show a popular favourite with the audience.
