Mother's Milk

Mother's Milk is the Red Hot Chili Peppers' fourth album. It was released on August 22, 1989.

A video was made to accompany "Knock Me Down" and "Higher Ground" (on MTV and VH1), the opening track. Those two songs has been a popular choice for club DJs playing the Red Hot Chili Peppers, because of its popularity, familiarity and suitability, given the length and style of most of the Red Hot Chili Peppers's other songs.

Before this album was released, the previous guitarist Hillel Slovak passed away on June 25, 1988 and Jack Irons was replaced and next became new members, Chad Smith (Drums) and John Frusciante (All Guitars).

Mother's Milk peaked at #52 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart.
