Demographics

census of 2000, there are 2,658 people, 1,029 households, and 807 families residing in the village. The population density is 115.3/km² (298.5/mi²). There are 1,127 housing units at an average density of 48.9/km² (126.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.55% White, 0.38% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. 1.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,029 households out of which 33.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.5% are non-families. 17.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 2.91. In the village the population is spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 28.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.2 males. The median income for a household in the village is $44,276, and the median income for a family is $52,417. Males have a median income of $39,479 versus $26,250 for females.
