Novohrad (in German: Neuburg or Neograd, in Hungarian: Nógrád) is the name of a historic administrative county in southern Slovakia (and in northern present-day Hungary) from a time when Slovakia was part of Hungary.
The name stems from the former Nógrád (Novohrad) castle in present-day Hungary. Today in Slovakia only an informal designation of the corresponding territory. Situated approximately along the line Poltár, Lučenec, Széczény and Vác.
