Omar Abdel-Rahman

Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman was a blind Egyptian cleric that lived in New York City. He was a controversial figure in his community.

Rahman and nine others were convicted on October 1st, 1995 in New York. They were convicted of conspiring to bomb New York landmarks including the United Nations and FBI offices. They were also accused of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which resulted in six dead and more than one thousand injured.
