Osceola is a city located in St. Clair County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 835. It is the county seat of St. Clair County6.

census of 2000, there are 835 people, 373 households, and 207 families residing in the city. The population density is 346.7/km² (896.1/mi²). There are 472 housing units at an average density of 196.0/km² (506.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.37% White, 0.36% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. 1.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 373 households out of which 26.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.2% are married couples living together, 12.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 44.5% are non-families. 39.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 22.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.13 and the average family size is 2.86. In the city the population is spread out with 24.6% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 20.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.8 males.
