Osvaldo Ardiles

Osvaldo César Ardiles (Ossie) (born August 3, 1952, in Córdoba, Argentina,) was a football (soccer) midfielder and is now a football coach. A competitive and skilled midfielder, he became a cult hero, along with compatriot Ricky Villa and Glenn Hoddle, in England as a player for Tottenham Hotspur.

As a player, he spent his career in the following teams:

Whilst player-manager at Swindon Town, Ardiles was implicated in the financial irregularities that saw the team relegated. Osvaldo Ardilles won the FA Cup in 1981.

He won 42 caps for Argentina's national team, including the victorious World Cup winning squad of 1978.

Later on he worked as a coach in Tottenham, Dinamo Zagreb, and in Japan.
