Owlswick

Owlswick is a hamlet in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, about 3 miles E of Thame and 4 miles SSE of Aylesbury. It is part of the parish of Monks Risborough.

The hamlet was not mentioned either in the Domesday Book of 1086, nor in later manorial records, presumedly because it has never had a manor, neither was it considered a place of any major importance. This makes tracing the origin or its name difficult, though the -wick ending of the name suggests an Anglo Saxon origin as this is the word for a small dairy farm.

Today the hamlet is small but picturesque, and affords magnificent views of the nearby Chiltern Hills.
