Paul Kagame
Paul Kagame (born
1957) is the president of
Rwanda. He was a guerilla fighter in the National Resistance Army, then the RPF. He became vice-president of the new regime in
1994, under Pasteur Bizimungu, but was widely seen as power behind the throne. He officially became president in
2000 after Bizimungu resigned, and then won elections in
2003.
