While governor, Rosselló concentrated on trying to bring international companies to invest in Puerto Rico and fighting crime. He made a number of economic and social changes in Puerto Rico, dropping unemployment rates from nearly 20% to 9.2%, and implementing multi-sectorial initiatives that stimulated the economy.
As well, he was essential in completing his promises of a Health Care System, the first in the Nation, over 50,000 of new homes for the poor, over 200,000 new jobs and more infrastructure projects than any administration in the past 20 years.
In 2004 he will run again for the post of Governor.
