Per Albin Hansson (1885-1946), leader of the Social Democrats in Sweden, was Prime Minister of four cabinets between 1932 and 1946, including the coalition cabinet during World War II.
Politically he advocated and worked for the introduction of a Welfare state system, which he called "Folkhemmet". Hansson died of a stroke while riding in a streetcar in Stockholm.
