Philippine cuisine
Philippine cuisine has influences from many sources, such as
Malay,
Spain and
America. Some popular dishes are:
- Adobo. Usually chicken, marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic.
- Pancit. Thin rice noodles, with diced vegetables, shrimp or chicken.
- Lumpia. Small, thin fried eggrolls.
- Lechon. Pork, usually with the skin fried and crunchy.
A popular cold refreshment, known as halo-halo, consists of
coconut milk, with evaporated
milk,
jackfruit chunks, and
beans. Halo halo means "Mix" in the
Tagalog language.
