Porsche 356
The
356 was according to some the original
Porsche automobile (others say the
Porsche 64), created by
Ferry Porsche using parts and knowledge from the
Volkswagen factory. It was available both with and without roof (coupé and roadster). The car body was designed by
Erwin Komenda.
The car bears a close resemblance to the Volkswagen, including an air-cooled, rear-mounted engine.
The 356 was introduced in the 1948 and was replaced by the Porsche 911 and the Porsche 912 in 1963.
