Prince consort
The title
Prince Consort was awarded by Queen
Victoria of the United Kingdom to her husband,
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 1857, in recognition of his status. No other husband of a reigning English, Scottish, Great British or United Kingdom queen has received the title, although it is loosely used in popular speech to refer to the husband of a queen regnant.
