Public Image Ltd

Public Image Ltd (P.i.L.) was a band formed by John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), Jah Wobble, Keith Levene and Jim Walker after the Sex Pistols broke up. Debuting with the single "Public Image", an autobiographical reflection on the media furore surrounding Lydon's previous band, PiL were a far more experimental project. They created some of the strangest music to come out of the early post punk scene, using heavy bass and dub backed up by skittery guitar work; over which John Rotten howled agitated, paranoid stream-of-consciousness lyrics.
