Redd Kross
Redd Kross was an
alternative rock/
garage rock/
power pop
band from
Los Angeles during the
1980s and
1990s, led
by brothers
Jeff McDonald and
Steve McDonald. Beginning
as a teenage
punk rock band, Redd Kross would soon develop
their own style based on 1960s
garage rock and 1960s and '70s
American "trash culture" in general, from TV to cult films by
directors like
Russ Meyer and
John Waters.By 1987's "Neurotica"
they had developed into a
power pop band and were at the forefront
of the American
indie scene.
