Richmond Hill is a city located in Bryan County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,959.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 6,959 people, 2,433 households, and 1,883 families residing in the city. The population density is 265.0/km² (686.5/mi²). There are 2,573 housing units at an average density of 98.0/km² (253.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 81.28% White, 13.69% African American, 0.60% Native American, 1.42% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.28% from other races, and 1.68% from two or more races. 3.71% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,433 households out of which 51.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% are married couples living together, 14.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.6% are non-families. 19.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.83 and the average family size is 3.24. In the city the population is spread out with 34.0% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 36.1% from 25 to 44, 14.2% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 29 years. For every 100 females there are 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.5 males. The median income for a household in the city is $47,061, and the median income for a family is $54,457. Males have a median income of $36,823 versus $25,810 for females.
