He was appointed 1612 by the Salzburger archbishop Markus Sittikus count von Hohenems von Seckau (Steiermark) as the chief architect to Salzburg and brought by his work the north Italian early baroque to Austria.
Solari died 10 April 1646 in Salzburg and is buried in the Peter cemetery.
