Scroll and Key
The
Scroll and Key Society is a
secret society that was established by John Addison Porter at Yale University, in 1841. It is one of the 3 senior secret societies at Yale.
The founders of this society were students that strived for admission into
Skull and Bones but were not accepted. The founders modelled the society after Skull and Bones, with the same initiation and meeting times.
Each year, fifteen members each from the junior class are chosen to be among the members of Scroll and Key. These fifteen incoming members are chosen by the fifteen members of the outgoing senior class.
