Franchise history
The Seahawks joined the league in 1976 as a member of the NFC West division. A year later, they switched conferences with their expansion partners, the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and joined the AFC West. They played in the American Conference until
2002, when, with league realignment, they were returned to the National Football Conference.
