Semi-automatic firearm
Semi-automatic firearms automatically load each round after the weapon is fired, but still requires a trigger press every time the user wants to shoot. Most modern pistols are semi-automatic, as are most sniper rifles (excepting the
bolt-action rifles, which are still popular). However, most rifles and machine guns (along with submachine guns) are fully
automatic, meaning that one can depress and hold the trigger, while the weapon shoots automatically until it is out of bullets.
