Semiminor axis
In an elliptical shape, the minor axis is the line that runs through the center of the ellipse, exactly bisecting it and perpendicular to the
major axis. The
semiminor axis is one half of the minor axis; running from the center to the edge of the ellipse.
For a more in-depth explanation, see ellipse. Also contrast with semimajor axis.
