Sheffield Hallam University
Sheffield Hallam University is a
university in
Sheffield,
England. It is based on three main campuses, one in Sheffield city centre and two (Psalter Lane and Collegiate) along
Ecclesall Road in southwest Sheffield. It has more than 28,000
students and is the sixth largest university in England. The University
Chancellor is
Professor the
Lord Robert Winston.
The establishment was formed in 1969 as Sheffield City Polytechnic, one of the first polytechnics in the United Kingdom. It became a university in 1992. The other university in Sheffield is the University of Sheffield.
