Shelley Capito
Shelley Moore Capito (born
1953),
American politician, has been a
Republican member of the
United States House of Representatives since
2000, representing the Second Congressional District of
West Virginia. A resident of
Charleston, West Virginia, she is the daughter of Arch A. Moore, Jr, who represented the First Congressional District of West Virginia and twice served as that state's
Governor (1969-1977; 1985-1989). Shelly Moore Capito was educated at
Duke University and at the
University of Virginia. In the House, she is Chairwoman of the Congressional Woman's Caucus.
