Shito ryu
Shito ryu (糸東流) is a form of
karate that was developed by Kenwa Mabuni in 1931. This
martial art form of Okinawan Karate tends to use low bent knee boxy stances, with certain forms of breathing. Shito Ryu encourages it's practicioners to be both quick and simple in their techniques. There is an impression that the practicitioners appear like hyper rabbits hopping up and down, when they prepare to fight.
This form of karate allows for sparing and katas, but it also allows for traditional okinawan weapons practice. A common move for this form of karate appears to be famous "karate chop" as this form of Karate uses a lot of chops as part of its fighting forms.
