SingTel has expanded aggressively outside its home market and owns shares in many regional operators, including 100% of Australian mobile phone operator Optus.
SingTel is majority owned by state investment vehicle Temasek Holdings. SingTel is currently headed by Lee Hsien Yang, the youngest son of former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.
