Snot (band)

Snot is a Metal/Punk/Funk band based in Santa Barbara, CA. Formed in 1994, broke up in 1998 after the death of vocalist Lynn Strait in a car accident.

Formation

Former bands: Doling - Kronix (speed metal) Strait - Lethal Dose (punk) (as bassist not vocalist) Mayo - Silence (thrash metal) Mayo/Fahnstock/Miller - M.F. Pit Bulls

Sonny Mayo leaves Snot to join Amen in May 1998. His replacement is Mike Smith.

Jamie Miller leaves Snot to form Hero with Mike Smith and Aimee Echo and Scott Ellis of Human Waste Project. Jamie is replaced by former Ugly Kid Joe drummer Shannon Larkin.

Doling quote: "We can't go on without Lynn, it's just bullshit when bands do that."

Statement released by Snot: "Lynn just seemed to have this special energy, that no matter who was in the room, all these legends that we were touring with, they came second to Lynn's vibration. We wish more of the world could have experienced him. We cannot seem to explain that quality that he had in words. All the memories that we had with Lynn we will cherish in our hearts forever."

Shannon Larkin currently in Godsmack. Sonny Mayo and John Fahnestock currently in Amen. Mike Smith currently in Limp Bizkit. Mike Doling replaced Logan Mader as guitarist for Soulfly (left Septemeber 2003).
