Sophie had to fight with her record company for a long time to get Timber released. She wanted to put a banjo in the song "lose your way" , but her company wanted to force her to put something else in it, like a guitar or something. Funny how I can hear that banjo while I'm writing this. She finally won with the help of a loosely knit group of internet fans.
Much of her songs seems to be the kind that is not necessarily massively appealing, but to those who for some reason have a peculiar connection to it, or feel that it somehow speaks things they haven't heard elsewhere, it is almost 'life changing' when they encounter it.
