South Woodstock is a town located in Windham County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,211.

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 14.0 km² (5.4 mi²). 13.6 km² (5.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.96% water.

census of 2000, there are 1,211 people, 499 households, and 333 families residing in the town. The population density is 88.9/km² (230.3/mi²). There are 565 housing units at an average density of 41.5/km² (107.5/mi²).
