The term "southwest", when used by itself, can refer to:

• southwest, between the following cardinal directions: south and west
• The American Southwest
• Southwest Airlines
• The Southwest Biosphere Reserve in Australia; see Biosphere Reserves in Australia
• Southwest England, principally the counties of Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall
