Squamous cell carcinoma
The most common type of
skin cancer is
squamous cell carcinoma. It is usually developed in the epithelial layer of the
skin and sometimes in differnt mucous membranes of the body. This type of cancer can be seen on the skin, lips, inside the mouth, throat or oesophagus. The squamous cell carcinoma affects about 20 percent of patients with skin cancer. This type of cancer is characterized by red, scaly skin that becomes an open sore.
