Status Quo (band)

Status Quo are a UK rock band founded in 1967 by Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi. They began being a psychedelic band called the Spectres. Having no success, they changed their name to Status Quo, and after their second album they decided to change into a heavy boogie rock band. In the first half of the seventies they were very lucky, rivalling with Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, and they showed a great energy during this decade and in the first years of the following one. Best known because of songs like Whatever You Want or In the Army Now.

Their songs used to have the same 4 x 4 rhythm, and is based in a three chord structure. They have a loyal group of fans in England, where they have reached the greatest number of Number One hits than any other group, including the Beatles and Michael Jackson.
