Super Mario Sunshine is the latest title in the Super Mario series. It is Mario's premier debut on the Nintendo Gamecube; Mario was rescued by Luigi in Luigi's Mansion, but this is his first game of his own. When Mario arrives on tropical Isle Delfino, the once-pristine island is polluted and plastered with graffiti. Even worse, he's being blamed for the mess! Now instead of enjoying a relaxing vacation with Princess Peach, Mario has to clean up the place and track down the real culprit.
In the game Mario has to visit different parts of Isle Delfino, including an amusement and a bustling harbor. Mario must recover the Shine Sprites that have left their traditional gathering spot in Delfino Plaza, the hub area of the game. A mysterious Mario look-alike seems to be behind the trouble on the island. Yoshi is playable in Super Mario Sunshine. Mario's new multipurpose water pack, FLUDD, lets Mario spray goop away, hover over danger, soar to new heights, and speed around the island.
