Superdeformed

Superdeformed, or Chibi, is a cliche of anime and manga, in which characters will become small and chubby, with deformed limbs and oversized heads, in order to express intense emotion, especially in the cases of anger or surprise. It is used for comedic effect in show such as Dragon Half and Magic Knight Rayearth, and some series have entire Superdeformed parody series running alongside the main series (Gundam).
