Targum

The Targums are Aramaic interpretations of the Tanakh, developed around Babylon and Israel during the first millennium A.D. They were not literal translations, but rather paraphrases; and they often included additional oral traditions. Three different forms of targum are distinguishable -- narrative, halakhic, and poetic. Examples of targums include Targum Yonathan.
