Texas (band)

Texas is an alternative rock and pop music band from Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. They were founded by McElhone in 1986 and had their performing debut in March 1988 at a Glasgow college.

The members of the band are:

• Sharleen Spiteri, vocals and guitar
• Ally McErlaine, guitar
• Johnny McElhone, bass guitar
• Eddie Campbell, keyboards
• Richard Hynd, drums

They took their name from the 1985 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas.
