The ClueFinders adventures aren't bound by reality. In The ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures Alastor Loveless, an evil archaeologist, tries to awaken Set, the Egyptian god of chaos, to take over the world. Often the endings are unexpected, and they vary between being actually plausible and completely impossible.
In all the ClueFinder's games (except for The ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures) the ClueFinders are divided into two teams, either Joni & Santiago and Owen & Leslie, or Joni & Owen and Santiago & Leslie. Owen and Santiago have red video phones to contact the other group. The user can click on the video phone for help from the other team, and this serves as a form of help when it comes to solving puzzles, etc. Since all the kids are together in The ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures, Socrates serves this function in that game.

Joni is the founder of the ClueFinders Club; she claims to be completely fearless. Arguably, most of the courage she possesses is reckless courage and she nearly kills herself several times as part of a running gag. Robert G. Ingersoll said, "Courage without conscience is a wild beast," hence the aproprtieness of Joni's surname. Joni is almost always depicted with braids, and wearing glasses and a backpack. The backpack is used in the game to store items, as a sort of inventory. Joni's uncle is Dr. Horace Pythagoras, a famous naturalist. One of Joni's favorite sayings is, "I dunno, but we're gonna find out." Joni is usually depicted with her arms crossed. She is 12 years old and in seventh grade. Joni is voiced by Chrissie McCarron.
Santiago is able to repair almost anything. Santiago and Leslie both try to find "perfectly logical, scientific explanations" for the mysteries, refusing to believe silly legends. Santiago is usually depicted with a yellow sweatjacket. He is 12 years old and in seventh grade. Santiago voiced by Clyton Stroope.
Owen Lam loves pizza and skateboarding. He is usually depicted with a green shirt and glasses. Owen and Leslie don't get along very well. She has little patience for his habit of translating what she says into layman terms, and his obsession for eating. Owen's method of speaking, which mainly involves the words "dude" and "cool," is a running parallel to Leslie's form of speech. Owen appears wearing sunglasses. He is 11 years old and in sixth grade. Owen voiced by Brian Gregory.
Leslie's first word was "encyclopedia," and she uses complicated words all time simply for the sake of it. For example she describes tossing a frisbee as "exploring the aerodynamics of this projectile". Leslie is the only character ever depicted with a skirt. Leslie's grandfather is Captain Clark, the captain of a ship that featured in The ClueFinders 5th Grade Adventures. She is 10 years old and in sixth grade (she skipped a grade.) Leslie voiced by Keoni Asia Gist.
LapTrap is Turbo TURTLE (Turbocharged Ultra-Rugged-Terrain Laptop Equipment) who originally belonged to Dr. Horace Pythagoras. He gave LapTrap to the ClueFinders at the end of The ClueFinders 3rd Grade Adventures (the first ClueFinders product). LapTrap doesn't enjoy going on scary adventures and tries to avoid them, without success. LapTrap's function in the game is as an options menu. Clicking on him reveals the game options. LapTrap can translate thirty languages into English(31 after The ClueFinders 5th Grade Adventures.) LapTrap resembles a yellow laptop with eyes that float in the air. LapTrap voiced by Les Hedger.
Socrates is, supposedly, the world's smartest dog. Socrates is named for a famous Greek philosopher. Socrates doesn't appear very often, but had a prominent role in The ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures. Socrates appeared at the end of The ClueFinders Reading Adventures. Socrates is the team mascot.Teammembers
