The Fisher King (movie)
The Fisher King is a
1991 film starring
Jeff Bridges,
Robin Williams and Mercedes Ruehl. Bridges and Williams play two men whose lives were shattered, in different ways, by a
spree killing in a restaurant, who meet when Williams' character (now a delusional street person on a quest to recover the
Holy Grail) rescues Bridges' character from a band of muggers.
The movie was written by Richard LaGravenese and directed by Terry Gilliam.
It won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress (Mercedes Ruehl) and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Robin Williams), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Music, Original Score and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
