Chosen from 400 auditioning dancers, models and singers, the trio's debut was in an ad aired on Super Bowl Sunday 1991. This nickname was earned by lip-synching the words Uh-Huh in the advertizements.
They are not to be confused by Ray Charles' actual backup singers, the Raylettes.
The Girls were played by Melaini Paul, 25, Gretchen Palmer, 28, and Darlene Dillinger, 26.
