Timon and Pumbaa

The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa is a Disney children's animated series that premiered from 1995 to 1998. After 1998, a new director took over, causing a drop in popularity. The last episode was in 1999, but was never aired on the major networks.

It stars Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog, both characters from the Disney animated films The Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. On February 10, 2004, they starred in their own feature film, The Lion King 1 1/2 which takes place behind the events of The Lion King. Ernie Sabella and Kevin Schon provide the voices of Pumbaa and Timon, although Timon was voiced by Nathan Lane in The Lion King, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and The Lion King 1 1/2.

There are possibly 80 22-minute episodes in all, most consisting of two or three shorter segments.

In the
I Think I Canada, a wolverine attacks when the duo try and relax. Attempting to escape, they find out the beast is an advertiser and manager for a training camp called "Survival of the Fittest".

The episode contrasts the two characters; while Timon is skinny and agile, he is overwhelmingly lazy, and where Pumbaa is obese and clumsy, he very active. Where Pumbaa climbs the stairs, Timon takes the elevator. Where Pumbaa exercises to strengthen his shoulder muscles, Timon uses his two crunches rings as a hammock-like resting device. Where Pumbaa swims vigorously, Timon prefers to take a speedboat. Where Pumbaa runs on a treadmill, Timon rides a rollerskate and reads the news. While Pumbaa lifts weights, Timon stretches out for another reason entirely, to sleep.

While many episodes took place outside of Africa in order to equip the writers with gags, Canada was completely irrelevant to this episode. It was instead a play on the phrase, "I think I can".

The Lion King 1 1/2 was based on this episode
